This sample site exists to prove out a small documentation workflow before adding more design or deployment complexity.

Why start with the built-in theme

The built-in MkDocs theme is a good first step because it:

  • keeps dependencies minimal
  • makes the content structure easy to review
  • reduces setup friction while deployment is being validated

Once the GitHub Pages deployment is stable, the next upgrade should be mkdocs-material if you want a richer docs experience.
